If you have been dealt with by your Officer Commanding (OC) or Commanding Officer (CO) you have an absolute right to appeal the finding of guilty, the sentence you received or both to the Summary Appeal Court. You can be legally represented at such a hearing.
If you appeal against the finding of guilt you will face a full trial of the matter at the Summary Appeal Court (SAC) where witnesses will be called by the prosecution who can then be questioned by lawyers acting on your behalf. If you appeal against the sentence alone then representations can be made by lawyers acting on your behalf as to why the sentence imposed was inappropriate or excessive.
